We are in a league of our own when it comes to Ventilation Compliance & Air Quality
DCUK FM, the UK’s leading Ventilation Hygiene & Compliance specialist, makes up part of the Air Testing & Quality division of Marlowe Critical Services. We improve air quality and ensure that your systems are safe and compliant and that your sites are appropriately maintained (to comply with Section 17 of the Fire Safety Regulatory Reform Order) by carrying out essential ventilation, ductwork and kitchen extract cleaning & management. We are the UK’s leading specialist in fire damper testing, inspections and maintenance, in accordance with BS 9999:2017.
Decontamination of Hazardous Material
We offer a complete approach to the removal of asbestos from contaminated ventilation systems.
We can carry out hazardous remediation including: lead paint removal, clostridium difficile, pigeon guano, pharmaceutical waste, legionella, MRSA and radiological hazards.
We hold a valid 3 year asbestos licence, a waste carriers licence and also hold memberships with ACAD and UKATA.
Enabling Works - TR19 Accessibilty and Fire Damper Access
We help to ensure that dampers & vents remain accessible to do this DCUK have our own qualified enabling teams including: carpenters, plumbers, electricians and decorators.
Regulation state there must be unrestricted access for regular cleaning and inspections.
Fire & Smoke Damper Inspections
We are experts in the management and maintenance of fire & smoke dampers. Dampers are located within ventilation ducts, in the event of a rise in temperature the damper blades close automatically trapping the fire.
Damper maintenance is often overlooked but dampers should be inspected annually in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and BS9999:2017.
Indoor Air Quality
WCS Group’s technical specialists assess, monitor, report and improve indoor air quality which reduces the risk of airborne pathogens, contaminants and other environmental hazards.
Poor air hygiene and management can trigger ill-health, sick building syndrome and forced absence by building occupants. It can also lead to increased building operation costs and expensive remedial works – ducting, carpeting, ceiling tiles etc.
Reliable air hygiene is about human health, wellbeing, compliance and reducing operating costs and the environmental footprint. Our air hygiene solutions include: performance/energy audits, coil cleaning and filter replacement.
Kitchen Extract & Riser Cleaning
No matter how large or small your systems are DCUK have the expertise and specialised cleaning equipment required to tackle any job. We utilise remote foaming systems that can clean risers and horizontal ductwork from one point of access or from abseiling where required.
Around a quarter of the 24,000 accidental fires in UK non-domestic buildings each year are caused by cooking appliances. Fires are an occupational hazard in commercial kitchens, but their impact is made far worse by the rapid spread of the fire through poorly maintained grease extract systems and ductwork. We can ensure that you are safe and compliant.
We offer a full-suite of Local Exhaust Ventilation System (LEV) maintenance solutions to reduce exposure to airborne contaminants such as dust, mist, fume, vapour or gas in a workplace. LEVs must be tested by a BOHS P601 Competent Person or by a member of the Institute of Local Exhaust Ventilation Engineers (ILEVE).
LEV inspection evidences the efficiency of the system, which may require additional service and maintenance to become effective. DCUK’s LEV testing engineers are BOHS P601 qualified or ILEVE members.
LPS:2084 Approved Ductwork Cleaning
DCUK carry out inspection, cleaning and maintenance of ductwork systems in full accordance to LPCB Loss Prevention standard LPS:2084. This is now a regulatory requirement to ensure high quality standards of maintenance.
The standard is of great importance, from training through to cleaning, reporting and record keeping. Our work is continuously and independently audited by BRE.
We provide: cleaning and installation of ventilation shafts both overground and underground; ductwork cleaning & decontamination; asbestos removal from tunnels and stations; land side and air side asbestos removal and hazardous remediation.
DCUK have vast experience working within mass transportation environments. Our employees hold the correct overground, underground and rail qualifications, and hold airside and landside approval required to work on such projects including major airports.
We offer a specialist approach to ensuring a building’s ventilation system is uncontaminated prior to handover.
As part of the initial property build or refurbishment work, ventilation systems can be become heavily contaminated by dust deposits caused by other services working in the area. This can affect the full system from AHU filters to diffuser grilles. We work closely with clients advising at what particular stage of work it will be best to carry out the system decontamination.
We carry out inspection, cleaning and maintenance of communal bathroom and kitchen extract systems. Our in-house teams can provide planned preventative maintenance tasks to fan units or supply and install new compliant units.
Using our innovative systems we can carry out the removal of flamable material in ductwork systems with minimum disruption to the occupiers. We can manage this process from start to finish.
Our UKATA & IOSH approved training academy has been designed to maximise the learning potential of each candidate. Training is provided both internally to our staff and externally to our clients and their representatives. We provide a variety of course across ventilation, fire dampers, asbestos and other health and safety disciplines.
Our classrooms each hold 12 desks with an iPad tablet device. We have SMART interactive white boards in each classroom which connect to a training iPad, providing visual aids. The learning sessions have been designed pragmatically to break up the course and are visually effective to engage each delegate.
DCUK provide fully compliant inspection, cleaning and testing of all general ventilation systems serving offices, factories, hospitals, universities, airports and schools. If ventiliation systems are poorly maintained this can affect air quality and result in additional hazards such as: fire, asbestos, legionella, pigeon guano and rodents.
We comply with the British Standard for cleanliness of ventilation systems (BS EN15780: 2011) and can ensure both new and existing ventilation systems are maintained correctly.
Unmaintained ducting systems are one of the primary causes of fires and the spread of fire throughout buildings. Unhygienic ducting & ventilation systems, which have not been regularly maintained, can lead to poor air quality which does not comply with TR19 causing harm to the health and wellbeing of a buildings occupants. We continually lead the market in innovation and can supply high-tech ductwork deposit monitoring systems providing complete compliance, safety and air quality for clients nationwide.
